The result is a more youthful appearance and healthier skin. It also feels great!
With 360-degree coverage, shaving is more ergonomic and faster than you can imagine.
I bought this something like a month ago. It was bought sight unseen. I like to keep my razors for more than a couple of years and my old Braun razor was old enough that replacement blades were hard to come by. The Braun 9595 was a huge step up. I used Norelcos rotary shavers years ago, hated them. Then switched to Remmington razors but they were tough to buy replacement blades for after a year or two. I was overseas long term and my remington razor died. I picked up a Braun at the suggestion of a friend of mine and it worked so well I'd never think of switching to another brand. But time wore on as did replacement blades and they became tough to buy so I upped the money and bought a Braun 4000 or 7000 series, I think.
Well it still works but blades are tough to buy. I bough the latest and greatest and most expensive Braun out there. the 9595. I have trouble shaving my neck, the hairs tend to grow sideways. It's misery to shave even with my old Braun. But this new one just shaves the hairs right off my face, no razor burn, nothing! I turn it on and clean it after about 3 shaves. It's a bit noisy on intensive clean, however I'm usually taking a shower so I don't care and it really cleans the razor very well. I did buy a replacement blade and will probably buy a couple more for when I go overseas again. I love the way this razor shaves. I'd buy another one in a minute. It's the best shaver I've ever owned. I don't think it shaves a lot closer than my old Braun but it doesn't give me any razor burn either and that alone is worth it. If you are thinking about buying one of these it's worth it. It just shaves so smoothly and easily and I have to shave every single day, so comfort is very high on my list and the hair doesn't grow back as fast for some reason.
An Electric Shaver That Actually Shaves

I've been using Norelco models, which include the 6885XL, for over 20 years. By and large, they were all very disappointing. By comparison, the Braun Pulsonic 9595CC with LCD is orders of magnitude better. Shaving with 6885XL, I'd often end up with fair-sized sections of wholly uncut hair and of the hair it did cut, it wasn't terribly close. It almost looked as if I didn't shave! The Braun just wipes my face with the Norelco, so to speak. It doesn't leave spots, period. And it's close across my entire face. So close, I just feel skin on my cheeks. Yes, for the first time, I think I can say that electric shaving "is there". It's reached the point of doing the job it's set out to do. I think one of the reasons why Norelco models fail so miserably is that while their lift and cut system was patented, what actually happens is that the metal foil over the razor mats some of the hair down and the blades never get to see it. The Braun takes a different approach.
The centerpiece vibrates like a little jack hammer and I'm surmising this causes the hairs to jump up tall, and the trailing half of the razor reaches them before they can bend back down. This means it does most of the work as opposed to the leading half (until you move in the other direction and their roles reverse). I don't know if this is true, but it's my guess behind the engineering logic. But I do know that it works! The Braun also has another nice feature. The Norelcos store cut hair behind the foil assembly and it has to be emptied periodically. I do this over the toilet bowl and one time, the entire assembly fell into the toilet. You won't have to worry about the Braun doing that. It comes with its own razor-washing gizmo. I haven't had it long enough to know how it will work out long-term, but so far as I can tell, it completely cleans the razor out and it does this after every use, so long as you remember to put it back and press the clean button.
Best Electronic Shaver I've Used Yet

Got this shaver a couple of weeks ago, and love it. I had used the Braun Activator model up to now, which was good, but did leave my skin a bit sensitive at times when I was in a hurry. This Braun is totally different in that my skin is much happier after I shave with this Braun than with anything prior. I think that is because the pulses move the head so fast that there is no time for the shaver to "pull" the hairs and create the sensitivity. The shaver feels great in the hand with its smaller diameter and L-Ion battery that cuts the weight to less than my previous Braun. It just feels really great to hold and use. The LCD readout of the battery and hygiene status is also very helpful. I nearly always use alcohol-based after-shave and cologne after shaving, and in the past that stung sometimes a lot depending on the way I shaved, how fast, when I last shaved, etc.
With this Pulsonic, to me it feels as if there is no alcohol in my post-shave liquids since my skin is so much less irritated after shaving with this. That alone is worth the upgrade! I love the "full suspension" of the heads as they float over the bumps and ridges of one's face and neck, and keep the head more gently pressed against my face when moving the shaver around my beard. I have always hated shaving and still do, but this Braun makes that chore about as painless as I've ever experienced to date. I still have my old Braun as a backup or emergency shaver, but after using this one it would be hard to go back even to that excellent shaver. This pulse thing takes shaving to a whole new level, and is truly a lot more than a marketing gimmick which is what I usually think of when I see the word "new." This truly is a new way to shave that may be the standard for years to come.
