I have very fine hair and it usually lays flat on my face. Up till now I have never found an electric that really did the job. Almost every electric I've used till now has left tons of stubble and I end up doing a quick dry shave with a razor to clean up missed areas. After who knows how many electric purchases I finally gave up and went back to a razor. I've been using only a razor (Mach 3) for about 3-4 years now. Problem with the razors is that I'm usually in a hurry, nature of my job, and I don't have time to wash, lather, shave, rinse, dry and aftershave. Sometimes I just need to clean up real quick, so I gave this one a try after reading some reviews and seeing that it had the vibration thing going on I figured I give one last go. Well, it works. It works great as a matter of fact. I have a couple trouble areas on my neck where my hair grows kinda sideways and flat but with a bit of persistence and stretching my skin tight I can even get those areas. And the kicker was that it cleaned my face on the first try.
I've been told that I just needed to stick with my electrics and my face would adapt... Bull. I didn't have to wait for any adapting or like that, this thing just shaved my face. It takes down my cheeks and chin with out any fuss at all and gets it as close to a razor as I've ever seen. You can wash the whole thing off in water which makes me happy since I bring it to work with me and cant always have the base around. The travel case has a nifty little holder for your brush as well. All in all this is a really nice and well thought out shaver. my only gripe (and it's a small one) is the trimmer placement, it's a bit awkward for me but it's not terrible. Cleaning is a bit loud since it vibrates in the base so I wouldn't clean it on the base if someone was sleeping in the next room. Speaking of cleaning, cleaning it on the base is a breeze, you push a button and walk away. If you can choke down the cost, it's a really nice razor. I'm definitely happy with mine.

I have never been able to shave more often than weekly since I started shaving at 15. My skin is very sensitive and my hair is thick and curly so shaving not only hurts while shaving, but also when the hair grows back. So weekly was good for me with a shaver. I have severe shaving irritation and borderline PFB. So when I say that not only is this shaver very comfortable to use, but also allows me to shave daily you will understand how great I think this product performs. I am now 35 and for the first time in my life people have actually seen me without a beard or stubble. I still get comments about this months after I purchased this.. So let me start with some specifics of what I like: 1) The self cleaning option is by far the best thing about this shaver. I no longer have to spend forever cleaning my very course hair out. 2) I have never had blood drawn by this device. I am amazed as I have even had problems with trimmers, but not now. 3) Since shaving takes a fair amount of time for me (due to the course hair).
I usually have had razor burn just from the shaver blades heating up. This shaver does heat up, but no where near enough to bother my skin. 4) This one surprises me a bit, but I like the shaving action of the blades. This is probably why my skin doesn't get bothered or why my hair doesn't become ingrown. The reason I am surprised is that I started with a Braun shaver first and it was awful. I swore that I won't use another one again. But I saw an show about the plant where these were made and how they were made and I decided to give it a try. I am glad I did... 5) I have had countless shavers and trimmers and all were very loud. This one is surprisingly quiet. Now for some things I don't like: 1) Shaver states that the middle blade is to lift flat hairs... I can tell you that it doesn't work as well as I had hoped as I still have to spend 1/2 of my shaving time getting these stubborn hairs. This may be rare for this shaver as it might work very well for 99% of the people that use it, but not for me. However, I am being a bit picky as I can still get them (for the most part) it just takes time. 2) The base station on this shaver is quite large and my bathroom is already cluttered from my wife's makeup and such. Overall, a great shaver and it has literally changed my life. It is nice to be clean shaven everyday for the first time.

The Braun Pulsonic is the best shaving system I've ever used. It's not perfect, but it is far and away superior to the Philishaves and Panasonics that have proven lacking for me over my past ten years of electric shaving. Philishave always gave me a neck rash, and Panasonic didn't shave the neck cleanly at all, ever, wet or dry. Blade shaves have always left me with a neck rash, so I persisted with electric systems. Yes, the Braun is expensive, and as I said, it's not perfect, but with a bit of practice you can achieve a great shave which lasts a good 24 hours, for me.
The most thorough shave is achieved 'wet', however I can understand why the manufacturer doesn't promote this. It would be easy to clog the blade heads with too much foam, so you need to apply this sparingly, ( I use soap-free), and keep rubbing water into your beard until you have more water than soap. If you can master this, you will agree this shaver is a major step forward to shaving nirvana. And I would like to leave a plug for Amazon. My order was processed with lightning efficiency, and arrived in Australia speedily, and in one piece. Thank you!
