Provides a fast comfortable shave, and the addition of small holes in the shaving heads give a much closer shave.
Low battery indicator is a great convenience, and rinsing it clean really saves a lot of time.
Cordless with good battery live, washable, cool and precise shaving and the best part it has a reasonable price. Nice for travel too.

The Norelco 7110 X is a great value. I bought it at a local drug store on sale for only $34.95. It provides a fast comfortable shave, and I think the addition of small holes in the shaving heads give a much closer shave than other models. Although the manual states a 25 minute shave time, the battery lasts much longer than that. The low battery indicator is a great convenience, and rinsing it clean really saves a lot of time compared to the tedious brushing method.
There are more expensive models available in the 7000 series, but they all use the same cutters and shaving heads (HQ8), so its a waste of money to spend more for little extras like slightly longer shave time, quick charge etc. Otherwise they all provide the exact same shave. My only complaint (and it's a very minor one) is that the shaving head unit is on a hinge. It would be a little easier when cleaning if it could be detached from the shaver. I highly recommend this shaver!

The heads on my old Norelco 5801XL had worn out. I was almost at the point of scraping my stubble off, so obviously it was time to replace them. The trouble was they were getting almost impossible to find locally. All part of forced obsolescence I guess. I don't like buying new models unless there is a need. I figured in this case that there was a justification and bought this model since it wasn't much more than the cost of a replacement head anyway. I have to say that I was surprised that this was actually quieter than my older Norelco considering it's one of their lower end models. I would've liked a model that had a proper 'battery full' charging light and corded operation but you have to buy one of their higher models in this range to get that. I don't see the point in paying double for a model that will give you the same shave, as apart from extra features, it would've had the same shaving head so I can live with it's minor limitations.
All in all I consider this a great buy. Oh, and it gives me a great shave too! Update: I have to say that after a using this for a while, I find the charge doesn't seem to last anywhere as long as my other Norelco which is in agreement with some other reviews on amazon. The red light seems to come on too soon. I actually let it run down after the red light came on to see how long it would take and it stopped after 31 minutes which means you still have a few shaves left once the light turns on so the light is fairly conservative. That seems to be the only downside so far though.

I received this shaver yesterday and today I got the best shave of my life with no skin irritation (I have sensitive skin.) At this price, I am not put off any of the complaints regarding charging time, frequency, etc. They sound just like my last one. Light weight and excellent feel. And quiet. Without my hearing aids, I could hardly tell it was on. Don't pay any attention to the "low" charge light. I find that I can get a week of additional use before the battery is exhausted.
Doing a complete discharge keeps the battery from developing a memory leak. I keep a throw-away blade razor in my shaving kit to cover an exhausted battery. Excellent electric shaver. It has most of the same features as Norelco's more expensive models, including allowing the user to clean its blade assembly with running water. I don't know why their top of the line models cost so much more, for seemingly so little difference between them and the lower priced 7110X.
