Best Electric Shaver I Have Ever Had

Rechargeable Electric Shavers

Customer Reviewer and Rating: A. Kirkpatrick - 5 Stars
To start off I am 41 years old and have been using electric shavers for 25 years. Blade shavers destroy my face and my beard is so tough and thick that they never worked for me. I have mainly owned Norelco's over this time. The only experience I have had with a foil electric was with cheap Panasonics I bought when I was younger (like $19.99). Back when I used these they worked very well but the foil would wear down or break too soon and cut me. From there I purely have been using each Norelco or other kinds of lift and cut systems.First of all when I opened the box and put in the cleaning cartridge I noticed that the cleaner system is about 1000% better and easier than the Norelco system. The Norelco system requires you to pull apart the case and pour the liquid into a tiny hole - and then screw it shut and put it back onto the base and let the liquid flow in.

Also, when you add more liquid you must clean the dissolved hair from the cleaning system. It's messy and a pain in the ass. However I will say that the cleaning system did make each shave in effect seem like I was using a new razor which is what the purpose was. Another defect was that it takes forever to clean, and then you must take it out and lay it down to dry (or put it back in the system to rest but that takes longer). The Pulsonic is designed beautifully. You take the cartridge and put it in... that's the complete effort. Then when it's empty you get a new one. That alone may have convinced me to get a new shaver - the ease is terrific. Also unlike the Norleco where once it's done shaving and charging you have to take it out to get it to stop (make the charge and cleaning lights go off) the Pulsonic cleans and then blow dries it with heat! No need to ever take it out - it goes off when it's done - fantastic.

Best. Shaver. Ever.

Rechargeable Shaver

Customer Reviewer and Rating: S. Correa - 5 Stars
I've never owned or used an electric shaver until I purchased the Braun Pulsonic 9595CC. From its first use I found it extremely comfortable and will never go back to using my Gillette Fusion. I've been using it for a number of weeks and I'm extremely satisfied with it. I find it provides a very close shave only to be rivaled by a fresh razor, but produces none of the irritation caused by blades. It does a good job of collecting the shaving debris ensuring a spotless bathroom. The cleaning system is convenient; a press of a button will leave you ready for your next shave. Initially I was skeptical about the Clean&Renew cleaning system, because I assumed the more it was used the sooner I would need a refill. In reality the cleaning cartridges contain a filter allowing the liquid to be recycled until depleted from evaporation.

Therefore, you're not going to save money by using the cleaning system every other day. Despite the cartridge's content label only specifying denatured alcohol and (lemon)fragrance, it includes a water soluble lubricant to keep the shaving mechanisms running smooth. So, using the Clean&Renew system not only keeps things hygienic but oils the shaving mechanism, which makes maintaining this shaver effortless. The shaver is a bit noisy, but it's not loud enough to be bothersome. Just don't expect to shave in tranquility. Braun has done it! This shaver gives a great shave. You will love this shaver and the shave it gives. Worth every penny. Although, you can use the shaver wet I wouldn't suggest bringing it in the shower or exposing the body of it to excessive amounts of moisture. I consider these minor faults for a device that provides an excellent shave that leaves my face pain free.

Just Switched to Braun

I've been a very loyal Norelco (SmartTouch 9195XL) user for years, and always buy the top of the line Norelco's when they come out. I used a Braun for a few days about 12 years ago and that was enough to to see that Norelco was far better at that time. However, I haven't been happy with Norelco for many years... as I've gotten older, the longer it took to shave with the Norelco (upwards of 15 minutes to get all the hairs) and I started noticing significant irritation (especially on my neck). I would replace the shaving blades, but that wouldn't help. I would replace the Norelco, but that wouldn't help. So, I've always been on the lookout for a better electric razor.

When I saw the reviews of Braun's Pulsonic, I knew I'd have to try it. And I'm happy I did. It is FAR better than Norelco's Smart Touch 9195XL Razor that I've used for the past two years. FAR BETTER. The shave time is significantly less, it gets far more hairs on its first pass, and the irritation is also far less (still a bit there, but far, far less than Norelco). I also like the daily cleaning option as it is a vast improvement over just running the razor under water which is time-consuming and not enjoyable. To summarize... the Braun Pulsonic is WAY, WAY better than the Norelco Smart Touch 9195XL. I was a loyal Norelco user for over a decade, and now I will be sticking to Braun. Unless, that is, Norelco is able to come out with something significantly better, of course.
